Floor lamps, also known as standing lamps or floor lights, are versatile light sources that uniquely combine functionality and design. Design by Grönlund offers a wide range of floor lamps to meet various lighting needs and interior styles. Our collection includes shaded floor lamps that provide general lighting, ambient lamps that create a soft, cozy glow and reading lamps that offer focused lighting. Additionally, our selection includes efficient LED floor lamps that combine style, energy efficiency, and long lifespan.
Our floor lamps are designed to suit both residential and public spaces, including hotel rooms and lobby areas. Many models feature a foot switch, allowing the lamp to be easily turned on or off with a tap of the foot, enhancing user convenience. Some floor lamp models have the switch positioned higher, such as on the lamp’s stem or near the bulb socket, making it easy to operate by hand. A floor lamp is an excellent solution for illuminating dim areas of a room, enhancing the space’s coziness and versatility.
A shaded floor lamp is an ideal solution for creating soft general lighting that illuminates the room without glare. This makes shaded floor lamps both practical and aesthetically pleasing additions to any home. The ability to change the shade allows for flexibility in altering the lamp’s appearance, making it adaptable to different interior styles and spaces. If the shade becomes damaged, it can be easily replaced, extending the lamp’s lifespan. Shaded floor lamps are particularly well-suited for corners of living rooms, bringing light and atmosphere to areas that might otherwise remain dark.
The Design by Grönlund collection also offers floor lamps that distribute light beautifully throughout the room. These lamps often use opal glass or tinted glass, ensuring even light diffusion. A lamp with an opal glass shade creates harmonious lighting, while models with tinted glass shades also serve as stylish interior elements. Especially when using filament bulbs, these lamps shine with a unique light, adding character and style to the space.
Ambient floor lamps are ideal for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. These lamps help to light areas that would otherwise remain dim, enriching the room’s ambiance and creating a welcoming environment with gentle lighting.
Some of our floor lamps are specifically designed with reading in mind. These models offer adjustable lighting, allowing you to direct the light exactly where it’s needed—whether it’s your favorite armchair or your desk. Some reading floor lamps have multiple light heads, enabling you to direct light to several areas simultaneously. This makes them ideal for waiting rooms, providing both comfort and functionality.
The Grönlund collection includes a wide variety of efficient LED floor lamps, using fixed LED elements as their light source. These lamps stand out for their even and effective light output, combined with a design that wouldn’t be possible with traditional replaceable bulbs. LED floor lamps are perfect for illuminating workspaces or assisting with reading, offering durable and energy-efficient lighting.
Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood of a space, and the color temperature of the light is key to achieving the desired effect. Most floor lamps favor a color temperature of 2700-3200 Kelvin, which produces a warm and cozy light that is ideal for various areas of the home. As an alternative, 4000 Kelvin bulbs offer a more neutral light, which, while whiter, can be suitable for office spaces and retail environments, and may also provide a fresh and clean feel at home.
There are also bulbs on the market with a color temperature below 2700 Kelvin, creating a very warm, almost yellowish or reddish light, best suited for ambient lighting. On the other end, bright light bulbs over 6000 Kelvin mimic daylight and can be beneficial during winter months when natural light is limited.
While most bulbs today are based on LED technology, older halogen bulbs are still available. It’s important to note that halogen bulbs generate more heat than LED or energy-saving bulbs, and they are not suitable for use in lamps with enclosed or small shades. By checking the product labels, you can determine the recommended wattage limit for the bulb in your lamp.
E27, E14, G9, and GU10 bulbs operate directly on 230V mains power and do not require a separate transformer. This does not apply to 12-volt G4 bulbs, which require a suitable transformer for use. When choosing a bulb for your floor lamp, it’s important to consider both the bulb’s color temperature and technical specifications to create the desired ambiance and ensure safe use of the lamp.
