The Niagara Table Lamp is shaped by the relationship between two different metallic finishes. A glossy chrome frame forms the clear structural base, while matte silver-coloured chains create a layered decorative surface around it. The design is intended to become particularly expressive when the light is switched on.
Glossy chrome and matte silver define the design
Instead of using one continuous fabric or metal shade, Niagara makes the chain structure a visible part of the lamp. The matte silver-coloured chains introduce numerous small details, while the glossy chrome frame provides a smoother contrasting surface.
The colour palette remains consistent around chrome and silver, but the difference between glossy and matte finishes adds visual variation without relying on strongly contrasting colours.
Niagara measures 56 cm high and 46 cm in diameter. Its dimensions should be considered when selecting a surface, as this is not an especially small table lamp. Providing sufficient open space around the fixture allows the chain structure to remain fully visible.
Three E14 bulbs determine the final light
Niagara uses three E14 lamp holders, each rated for a maximum of 40 W. Bulbs are not included, so compatible light sources can be selected separately.
The selected bulbs determine the final luminous output and colour temperature. Choosing three matching E14 bulbs is a practical way to create a consistent light colour and output throughout the fixture.
When selecting the light sources, the E14 base and maximum 40 W rating per bulb should be observed.
On-cord switch for straightforward everyday use
The on/off switch is positioned on the cord, allowing Niagara to be operated directly from its own power lead.
When planning the position of the table lamp, it is useful to consider both the 46 cm diameter and access to the cord switch. A sufficiently open surface helps the decorative structure remain visible while keeping everyday operation convenient.
