The Weight Table Lamp stands apart through the way its construction becomes part of its appearance. A visible counterweight balances the structure and gives the lamp a playful mechanical character. Rather than hiding the functional elements, Weight uses them as part of the design, creating a table light that remains visually interesting even when switched off.
A counterweight as part of the design
Weight takes its name from the balancing element that defines its silhouette. The counterweight gives the lamp a recognisable character and distinguishes it from more conventional table lamps with simple fixed stems.
The all-black finish keeps the different parts visually connected and allows the relationship between the arm, shade and counterweight to remain clear. The result is graphic and slightly playful without relying on decorative surface details.
Weight works naturally on a desk, but its adjustable construction also makes it suitable beside a reading position or on another furnishing surface where directional local light is useful.
Directional light for work and reading
Weight is designed for situations where the light needs to be positioned around a task or reading area. Its elongated structure reaches over the furnishing surface and allows the light to be brought closer to the point where it is needed.
The adjustable design gives more flexibility than a fixed table lamp. On a desk, the position can be adapted for different tasks, while beside a reading chair the light can be arranged around the user’s preferred position.
The functional construction remains a visible part of the lamp. The counterweight, arm and shade work together visually as well as mechanically, giving Weight a distinctive technical character.
Replaceable E14 light source
Weight uses one E14 bulb with a maximum rating of 40 W. The bulb is not included, allowing the colour temperature and luminous output to be selected according to the intended use.
For working, an E14 LED bulb can be selected with practical illumination in mind. For reading or more relaxed supplementary lighting, a warmer or lower-output light source may be preferred.
Because the bulb is replaceable, the lighting character can also be changed later without replacing the fixture itself. The power switch is positioned on the cord for straightforward everyday operation.
A distinctive Design by Grönlund table lamp
Weight belongs to the Design by Grönlund collection. Its character comes from the combination of a clean black finish, adjustable form and clearly visible balancing weight rather than decorative ornament.
