The Two Cups Wall Light is designed around the possibility of using illumination in more than one way. Its metal construction, rounded forms and two E27 light sources create a compact wall fixture that can provide direct local light or contribute softer indirect illumination to the room. At 28.5 cm high, it is easy to position beside a bed or along a hallway without requiring floor or table space.
Direct reading light and indirect room lighting
The central lighting idea behind Two Cups is the combination of direct and indirect light. It can be used for task or reading illumination, while light directed via a wall or ceiling creates softer, glare-free ambient lighting in the surrounding space.
This makes the wall version particularly suitable beside a bed, where local reading light is useful without taking up space on a bedside table. It also works well in a hallway, where a wall-mounted fixture can add another layer of light while leaving the passage area clear.
The shade diameter is 16 cm. Together with the rounded Two Cups design language, the compact proportions give the fixture a recognisable form without making it visually heavy on the wall.
Mount vertically or at an angle
The Two Cups Wall Light can also be installed at an angle. This allows the position of the fixture itself to become part of the composition and recreates some of the tilted character seen in the other Two Cups designs.
An angled installation can be particularly effective where the wall light is intended to act as a visible interior element rather than simply blend into the surface. In a bedroom, matching fixtures can be positioned on either side of the bed, while a hallway offers opportunities to use one or several units to create rhythm along the wall.
Two replaceable E27 bulbs
Two Cups uses two E27 lamp holders, each accepting a bulb up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included. This gives flexibility to select the colour temperature and luminous output according to whether the fixture is used primarily for reading, local illumination or softer reflected light.
Using similar bulbs in both lamp holders helps maintain consistent light colour and brightness. Because the light sources are replaceable, the lighting character can also be changed later without replacing the wall fixture itself.
The power switch is located on the cord, keeping the light directly controllable from the fixture.
Matt black or matt white metal
Two Cups is made from metal and offered in two finishes. Matt black gives the rounded form stronger definition against a pale wall, while matt white creates a quieter appearance in light interiors. Both versions share the same dimensions, two-light construction and Two Cups design language.
The Two Cups family was designed by interior architect and designer Marjut Nousiainen for the Design by Grönlund collection and includes wall, table and floor lamps.
