York is defined by its highly reflective glass surface. The smoky chrome gradient gives the shade a metallic-looking sheen while retaining the character of glass, and the finish becomes progressively darker towards the top. This transition emphasises the rounded shape and gives York a distinctly different expression from clear or uniformly coloured glass pendants.
Reflective smoky chrome glass
The most recognisable feature of York is its glossy gradient surface. The glass reflects the surrounding room, so the appearance changes subtly depending on the viewing angle, nearby colours and ambient light. The smoky chrome treatment enhances this effect while giving the upper part of the shade a darker visual weight.
The overall form remains restrained. Instead of relying on decorative fittings, York allows the rounded glass shade and its changing reflective surface to create the visual interest.
This makes the pendant suitable both as a single statement light and as part of a repeated arrangement where several reflective shades create a coordinated composition.
Three sizes for different arrangements
York is available in three sizes, allowing the same design language to be adapted to different spaces. The smallest version works as a compact pendant and can also be used effectively in grouped installations. The larger versions give the reflective glass more visual presence and work naturally as individual fixtures.
The choice of sizes also makes it possible to build arrangements without changing the fundamental shape or finish. Several York pendants can be repeated above a longer surface, while a larger version can create a stronger individual focal point.
The two larger models include an additional wire that supports the glass shade. The smallest version does not use this support wire.
Replaceable E27 light source
Each York pendant uses one E27 bulb with a maximum rating of 40 W. The bulb is not included, giving you freedom to choose the colour temperature and luminous output according to the room and surrounding lighting.
A replaceable E27 source also makes the lighting character easy to adjust later without replacing the fixture. The selected bulb works together with the smoky chrome glass to determine how the shade appears when illuminated.
Adjustable suspension
York is supplied with a three-metre adjustable fabric cord. The generous length allows the final suspension height to be adapted to the ceiling, furniture below and the desired composition.
The pendant uses ceiling-hook mounting and a ceiling plug. York belongs to the Design by Grönlund collection and is offered in three size variations with the same smoky chrome gradient finish.
